Simon Leviev, known as 'The Tinder Swindler', was released after two months of detention in Georgia, where he had been arrested at Interpol's request for fraud charges. His lawyer, Mariam Kublashvili, announced that Germany had dropped the extradition request, and the case was closed without conditions.

Leviev is accused of scamming women on the Tinder app, obtaining approximately 10 million dollars through loans that he did not repay, claiming to be a wealthy heir. His case was popularized by the Netflix documentary 'The Tinder Swindler', which highlighted his scams and their impact on the victims. Although he denied the allegations, Leviev became a symbol of romance scams, a growing phenomenon.
