Ryanair flight FR3418, which was transporting passengers from Pisa to Prestwick, encountered extreme weather conditions, with winds of up to 100 mph, which led to three failed landing attempts. The pilots issued a mayday call and decided to divert to Manchester, having only 220 kg of fuel left upon landing. Authorities have opened an investigation, and passengers arrived at their destination with a 10-hour delay, reporting severe turbulence and an experience close to a fatal accident.
