Marko Djuric, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, expressed gratitude to Romania for the support given in combating the wildfires affecting the country.
In a statement, Djuric especially thanked Minister Oana Toiu and the firefighters from DSU for the help provided during a difficult time. Romania responded to Serbia's call by activating the European Union's Civil Protection Mechanism and sent a Black Hawk helicopter, specialized in extinguishing fires in hard-to-reach areas.
Additionally, a ground crew consisting of 69 people and 15 technical means was mobilized to support Serbia in the fight against the fires.
