Last week, regulatory authorities in the European Union conducted a surprise raid at the headquarters of the online retailer Temu in Dublin. This action was motivated by suspicions that Temu, part of the Chinese conglomerate PDD Holdings, might be benefiting from state subsidies that could give it an unfair competitive advantage in the market.

The inspection is part of a series of measures aimed at ensuring compliance with competition rules and transparency within the European single market. Additional details about the nature of the subsidies and their impact on Temu's operations have not been made public.
