The British Ministry of Defense reported increased Russian pressure on Kupiansk, with infiltration attempts from the northeast and four successive attacks. Russian forces also reached the Oskil River, cutting Ukrainian lines on the east bank of the river. The city of Kupiansk is of strategic importance as a railroad hub, and was recaptured by Ukrainian forces in September 2022.
