The Russian army has announced an offensive in the Dnipro region near the border with Donetsk, in yet another symbolic setback for Ukrainian forces, which are suffering from a shortage of soldiers and equipment. Moscow confirmed the capture of the village of Zarya and the continued advance into Dnipro, a densely populated area where many Ukrainians have fled from the east of the country. This offensive could have strategic implications in the context of diplomatic talks to resolve the conflict.
