Iran has signed a 25 billion dollar agreement with Russia's state nuclear corporation, Rosatom, for the construction of four nuclear power plants.

The agreement was announced by the IRNA news agency, which specified that "An agreement for the construction of four nuclear power plants, worth 25 billion dollars, in Sirik, Hormozgan, was signed between the Iran Hormoz company and Rosatom." This comes in the context of the return of sanctions known as "snapback," triggered by European powers following the failure of the latest attempt to extend the UN embargo on conventional weapons against Iran.
