Russian authorities have announced the resumption of direct commercial flights between Moscow and Pyongyang for the first time since the 1990s amid growing ties between Russia and North Korea. The first flight will be operated by Nordwind Airlines, with tickets quickly sold out. Although originally planned for two flights a week, the transport ministry has said there will initially be just one flight a month. Relations between the two countries have strengthened, including military cooperation, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
