Vladimir Putin has confirmed that Russia is willing to mediate the conflict between Israel and Iran, contacting foreign leaders to offer help. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned that US military assistance to Israel could aggravate the situation in the Middle East. Russia, with close ties to Iran, fears losing its influence in the region, especially in the face of threats from the Trump administration. Putin's proposed mediation has so far been unsuccessful and tensions continue to rise.
