An OSINT analysis conducted by Radio Free Europe shows that several military bases in the Arctic region of Russia have been left without air defense, as the S-300 and S-400 systems have been relocated to protect Moscow from Ukraine's drone attacks.

Satellite images from 2025 show an almost total absence of these systems compared to 2015, when the defense was dense. At the Severodvinsk naval base, essential for Russian nuclear submarines, dozens of launchers have been withdrawn.

In contrast, over 100 air defense systems have been deployed around Moscow, including 43 Panzer-S1 air defense towers.

Additionally, the systems are being transferred to Putin's residence in Valdai, where additional air defense towers have been erected.

According to the investigation, 60% of long-range air defense systems have been relocated from their initial bases, leaving the Arctic regions vulnerable.
