Medinski, Putin's adviser and head of the Russian delegation, said talks with Ukraine would take place on Friday morning in Istanbul, stressing that Russia is ready to cooperate without preconditions. The Ukrainian delegation, led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, was approved by President Zelenski. Earlier, a US official expressed skepticism about the progress of the talks, suggesting that a solution would require a direct meeting between the leaders of the two countries.
