Russia has handed over 1,000 military bodies to Ukraine, while Ukraine has returned 19 bodies of Russian soldiers following direct negotiations.

This body swap is the only concrete result of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities have confirmed that 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers, most of them killed on the front line or in captivity, have been repatriated, while Ukraine has returned 19 bodies of Russian servicemen. The action was coordinated by the Ukrainian center in charge of managing prisoners of war.
