Russia is evacuating almost all of its personnel from the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran. 20 people remain for equipment management.

Russia has evacuated almost the entire team from the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran.

The general director of the Rosatom group, Aleksei Lihatcev, announced that in recent months, 108 people have left for Isfahan, while 20 employees, including managers and equipment supervisors, remain at the plant after this 'last rotation'. This evacuation comes after, at the beginning of April, nearly 200 employees were already withdrawn from the same location.

The Bushehr nuclear power plant, the largest nuclear cooperation project between Russia and Iran, was built based on Russian designs, and the construction of the first unit began in 1975, being interrupted in 1979 due to the Islamic Revolution.

In recent years, nuclear facilities in Iran have become frequent targets of attacks within armed conflicts.
