A North Korean missile unit has begun to be deployed in western Russia, according to an official from the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Agency. This could include 120 ballistic missiles and six launchers, targeting Ukraine. The announcement comes following the strongest Russian attack on Kyiv this year, resulting in 15 deaths and 51 injuries.
Since the end of 2023, Russia has launched dozens of North Korean missiles, and the deployment of the unit could expand military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang. Andrii Cherniak mentioned that the North Korean unit will be stationed in the Voronezh region, and discussions to establish the details of the deployment will take place next month. North Korean missiles, although larger, are less accurate than Russian ones, but pose a significant threat to Ukraine, which fears attacks on electrical infrastructure this winter.
