Russia may decide to escalate the conflict in Ukraine, targeting NATO bases in Romania and the Baltic states, as well as factories in the European Union that produce weapons used by Ukraine, according to an editorial signed by Andrei Ilnițki in the magazine Kommersant.

President Vladimir Putin has rejected calls for negotiations with Kiev, continuing the war following recent Ukrainian attacks on Russian infrastructure. The Kremlin's spokesperson, Dmitri Peskov, stated that Russia must strengthen its security in the face of Europe's militarization.

Kremlin sources suggest that Putin will escalate the conflict, considering the Ukrainian attacks. Additionally, Putin refuses to accept a ceasefire and focuses on capturing the entire Donbas.

Military analysts believe that Russia may require a new mobilization to achieve its objectives, and Putin is determined to secure a significant victory in this conflict.
