American Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated on Monday that an agreement to end the war with Iran could materialize "today" and that the U.S. will give diplomacy every chance to succeed before exploring "alternatives," while Brent crude futures fell by $4.71, or 4.55%, to $98.83 a barrel, reports The Guardian, Reuters, and New York Times.

The Trump administration claims that negotiations for an agreement are still possible, but U.S. officials emphasize that they are prepared to resort to 'other options' if talks fail.

American Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated that Washington will continue to explore the diplomatic path, but warned that patience is not unlimited.

Differences between the U.S. and Iran persist, especially regarding enriched uranium stocks, control over maritime traffic in Hormuz, and economic sanctions.

Rubio mentioned that an agreement to end the conflict could be reached 'even today', in the context of falling oil prices and optimism regarding a possible agreement.

Oil prices have dropped by 4.5%, and Brent crude futures reached $98.83 a barrel.

Rubio expressed hope that an agreement will be reached that would allow the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, benefiting from support in the region.

Rubio's statements come a day after President Donald Trump stated that he told his representatives not to rush to finalize any agreement with Iran.
