Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, failed to return to Europe from Abu Dhabi, where she was in Abu Dhabi for talks with Gulf Cooperation Council politicians. Flights were suspended due to rising tensions in the Middle East and Metsola was due to return on Tuesday. His cabinet is monitoring the situation and is in contact with authorities in the region ahead of a scheduled meeting with Bill Gates in Brussels.
