Reza Pahlavi, the son of the Iranian shah overthrown in 1979, sent a video message in which he promises that he will return to Iran from his exile in the United States. Although he did not specify a date, Pahlavi emphasized that the Iranian people are calling for a "new credible path" and that they are in a battle for liberation. Meanwhile, Iran is facing massive protests caused by the economic crisis and rising inflation, which have escalated into demonstrations against the authoritarian regime. The death toll from the protests remains unclear, with estimates between 16,500 and 18,000 deaths, although HRANA has confirmed 3,308. Pahlavi, who has lived in exile for decades, stated that the Iranian people have risen to reclaim their country and called for the support of the international community.
