Republika Srpska's parliament has voted to hold a referendum on October 25, following the exclusion of Milorad Dodik from the presidency by a federal court. Dodik, convicted of undermining the functioning of the country, is contesting the decision and threatening to block the elections. The referendum will ask citizens whether they accept foreign decisions that have affected Dodik. He is seeking support from Russia, Hungary and Serbia, given persistent ethnic tensions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
