On August 19, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) announced the conduct of a special operation to expose a criminal organization.
This organization was allegedly led by current and former deputies of Ukraine, including high-ranking officials from the President's office. Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko mentioned that searches took place at the deputy head of the president's office, Iryna Mudra, without providing further details. Iryna Mudra, appointed in March 2024, was previously the Deputy Minister of Justice. The investigation also targets Vadym Stolar and Maksym Mykytas, former deputies, as well as officials from the Ministry of Justice.
As part of the operation, named "Forrest Gump", NABU discovered a document related to a crisis communication plan concerning the activities of the Special Investigation Commission of the Verkhovna Rada. Audio recordings of the involved conversations suggest a connection to the activities of the presidential office.
