Authorities in Balochistan reported raids that began Saturday morning, resulting in the deaths of 18 civilians, including five women and three children, and 15 members of the security forces. Sarfraz Bugti, the chief minister of the province, stated that the troops reacted quickly, killing 145 members of the militant group 'Fitna al-Hindustan', a name used for the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), considered illegal and supported by India.

In the context of the attacks, Pakistan is trying to attract foreign investments in the mining sector, despite the violence. Residents described scenes of panic following a suicide bombing that targeted police officers, highlighting the instability in the region.
