According to exit polls, Rafal Trzaskowski would have won the first round of the presidential election with 30.8%, ahead of Karol Nawrocki, who got 29.1%. If the results are confirmed, the two will face each other in a second round on June 1. A victory for Trzaskowski could strengthen Prime Minister Donald Tusk's pro-European government by allowing the controversial judicial reforms introduced by the nationalist PiS party to be reversed.
