In a tense meeting at the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin received Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, for discussions about peace in Ukraine. Putin labeled the conditions imposed by Europeans as unacceptable, accusing them of wanting the conflict. He stated that Russia is prepared to fight if Europe continues to provoke. Although Witkoff reportedly brought proposals for territorial exchanges, it is unclear whether these will be sufficient for Putin, who aims for total control over Donbas. At the same time, the Russian military advance complicates negotiations, and Ukrainian and European leaders emphasize the need to include European partners in discussions. Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the deadlock in negotiations, highlighting the difficulties related to territories and funding. Emmanuel Macron stressed that Ukraine must be an integral part of any discussions regarding security and peace.
