Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that Russia must constantly strengthen its positions in the Arctic, describing this task as historic. During a ceremony for the launch of the nuclear icebreaker 'Stalingrad', Putin emphasized the importance of exploiting the country's logistical potential and developing an Arctic transport corridor. He stated that Russia will continue to expand its fleet of icebreakers, highlighting that it is the only country capable of producing such nuclear vessels in series. 'Stalingrad' is the sixth icebreaker in project 22220, with the capacity to break ice three meters thick. Putin pointed out that the new ship will become a symbol of the power and creativity of the Russian people in extreme conditions.
