On Sunday, the conservative Popular Party (PP) in Spain organized a major protest, just three days after the preventive arrest of former transport minister, José Luis Ábalos, as part of an investigation into an alleged bribery scheme for contracts. Approximately 80,000 people participated in the demonstration, with the slogan 'This is it: mafia or democracy?'.

PP leader, Alberto Nunez Feijoo, criticized the current legislature, calling it 'absurd' and emphasized that Ábalos' arrest highlights the corruption of Sánchez's political style. Additionally, Sánchez's wife, Begoña Gómez, and his brother, David Sánchez, are being investigated for various corruption and influence peddling charges. The Prime Minister has promised to continue despite these scandals affecting his close circle.
