The trilateral negotiations between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia, held on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, were deemed 'productive' by American officials and will continue on Thursday. Rustem Umerov, the Ukrainian chief negotiator, described the discussions as 'substantial and focused on concrete steps'.
The American delegation was led by special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, while Russia was represented by Admiral Igor Kostiukov. President Donald Trump stated that he expects 'good news' regarding the resolution of the conflict. Although the tone of the discussions has improved, obstacles remain, especially concerning territorial control over the Donbas region, which Ukraine refuses to cede to Russia.
