France's National Assembly Bureau has admitted a procedure to impeach President Macron, proposed by the left-wing party La France Insoumise.

The procedure was sent to the Committee on Laws and passed the first stage, with 12 votes in favor and 10 against, although it has little chance of success, given the minority of the left both in the committee and in the hemicycle. The move was described by a leader of the presidential party as "a declaration of war on our institutions".
