Pope Leo XIV has decided to provisionally retain in office all members of the Roman Curia, including the secretaries and the president of the Pontifical Commission, to allow time for reflection, prayer and dialog. This measure will remain in effect until further notice, and the Pope wants to make informed decisions on future appointments. Pope Leo XIV, recently elected as Pope Francis' successor, will have to appoint a new secretary of state and make changes in the leadership of the Vatican's main bodies.
