Pope Leo XIV: "The search for a peace agreement without including Europe in discussions is, allow me to say, unrealistic"

Pope Leo XIV declared on Tuesday that it is "unrealistic" to attempt to achieve peace in Ukraine without Europe and warned that the plan presented by Donald Trump risks causing a "huge change" in relations within the North Atlantic Alliance.

"The war is in Europe and I believe that Europe must be an integral part of the guarantees we need for security, both today and in the future. Seeking a peace agreement without including Europe in the discussions is, allow me to say, unrealistic," the pontiff emphasized.
