On Wednesday morning, Polish and allied planes were launched to ensure the safety of Polish airspace, following the intensification of Russian airstrikes on western Ukraine, near the border with Poland. The Polish armed forces announced that they had mobilized quick reaction fighter jets and an early warning aircraft, and air defense systems were put on the highest level of readiness.
That same night, a drone entered Romanian airspace, being detected in the counties of Tulcea and Galați, which prompted the Ministry of Defense to launch four aircraft for monitoring. Specialized teams were planned to conduct ground searches. The incident comes after Polish planes intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft at the end of last month, and in September, 19 Russian drones entered Polish airspace, an incident considered by Poland to be an act of aggression.
