Paweł Szota, the head of the Polish Foreign Intelligence Agency, stated that the country must act as if an armed conflict with Russia is a "short-term perspective," considering the increasing threats from the Kremlin.

He emphasized that Russia could test NATO's resolve through major provocations, and the risk of military confrontation is real. Poland, which borders the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad and Belarus, has been a strong supporter of Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion. Szota mentioned that Polish infrastructure has been the target of cyberattacks and disinformation campaigns from Russia. The threat assessments of the AW are aligned with those of NATO, and the likelihood of a broader conflict depends on the evolution of the war in Ukraine. Szota stated that Russia could continue the conflict for many years, and Putin will not back down, needing to present himself as a victor. He also mentioned that Poland maintains communication channels with security services in Belarus, believing that these contacts can bring security benefits.
