Poland will invest €2.34bn to secure its eastern border in response to tensions in the region.

The decision to invest in eastern border security comes amid concerns about Russia's actions in the region. The "Eastern Shield" project aims to reinforce 400 kilometers of border with Russia and Belarus. Poland has become an unconditional supporter of Ukraine and has allocated a defense budget of about 4% of GDP.
