The Polish Interior Ministry has announced that border controls with Germany will remain in force until August 5, starting July 7. Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that the measure is a symmetrical response to Germany's tightened controls aimed at stopping illegal migration. Poland will also carry out border checks with Lithuania during this period. German controls were implemented in October 2023 and resulted in 1,300 people, including asylum seekers, being refused entry.
