The Afghan government has announced that over 8,000 Afghans have been displaced due to the intensification of the conflict with Pakistan, which has escalated in recent days. The clashes between the two countries have been described by Pakistan as an 'open war', with airstrikes from the Pakistani army and ground responses from Afghan Taliban.

As a result of the bombings, 8,400 families have been forced to leave their homes, according to statements from Afghan officials. The death toll includes at least 39 Afghan civilians, including three children, following the attacks in Kunar province. UNICEF has called on both parties to protect civilian lives and to show restraint in their confrontations.
