Over 50,000 people have been evacuated from Izmir province, Turkey, due to wildfires fueled by strong winds.

Wildfires in Izmir province have led to the evacuation of more than 50,000 people from 41 settlements. The blaze started in Seferihisar district on Sunday and was fueled by winds of up to 120 km/h. Firefighters, assisted by 1,000 personnel and aerial equipment, are tackling 77 fires. Since June 1, Turkey has recorded 1,459 fires, 569 of them in wooded areas.
