During an intervention at the Council for Peace, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán praised Donald Trump's efforts in the direction of global peace, stating that his initiatives offer a new opportunity for international stability. Orbán emphasized that Hungary, being the only country in the European Union represented at the highest level, recognizes that the war in Ukraine would not have broken out if Trump had been in charge.

He highlighted the link between Europe's security and the situation in the Middle East, especially in Gaza, arguing that Hungary's participation in the Council for Peace is motivated both by principles and by national interests. Orbán stressed the need for new initiatives to maintain peace, considering that Trump's initiative is a step in the right direction and expressed Hungary's pride in being part of this council.
