After a meeting of the National Defense Council, Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that Hungary has not been supplied with oil through the Druzhba pipeline since January 27, accusing Ukraine of an oil blockade. Orban claims that this stoppage is politically motivated, not technical, and that the Ukrainian government is exerting pressure on Hungary and Slovakia.

Following this information, the Prime Minister ordered the strengthening of the protection of critical energy infrastructure, deploying soldiers and equipment around key energy facilities to prevent attacks. Additionally, the presence of police will be increased at power plants and other facilities, and drone flights will be prohibited in Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg County, near the border with Ukraine.
