Oleg Deripaska, the Russian billionaire and oligarch close to the Kremlin, has proposed that Russian citizens adopt a 12-hour work program per day, for six days a week, to cope with the global economic crisis. Deripaska emphasized that Russia's resources are limited and that a significant increase in the workforce is essential for the survival of the national economy.
He criticized the Central Bank of Russia for its policies that have led to high interest rates and a strengthening of the ruble, affecting investments. He also warned that the war in the Middle East will not benefit Russia and predicted a global economic slowdown that will impact the Russian economy.
Deripaska called for the weakening of the ruble and a reduction in the key interest rate to stimulate the economy. The economic pressure on Russia is exacerbated by Ukrainian attacks on energy infrastructure and disruptions in oil exports, which are essential for the federal budget.
