Oleksandr Usyk, the world heavyweight boxing champion, had a meeting with American President Donald Trump at the White House, according to a post on X by Margo Martin, the presidential communications advisor. Although details about the discussion were not disclosed, the meeting took place after Usyk successfully defended his world title, achieving a tough victory against Dutch boxer Rico Verhoeven. At 38 years old, Usyk remains undefeated in his professional career and holds multiple championship belts.
He also uses his international platform to support Ukraine in the context of the war with Russia, recently dedicating his victory to the "Ukrainian people and Ukrainian soldiers." Trump, known for his enthusiasm for combat sports, will host a UFC tournament at the White House on June 14. Usyk won Olympic gold in 2012, representing Ukraine.
