Instead of heading to the scene of the incident, police sergeant Kevin Bollaro drove in the opposite direction, stopping at an ATM and then at a pizzeria, where he spent nearly two hours. Prosecutors claim he falsified a report, stating that he investigated the area, while GPS data shows he did not visit the mentioned locations. The next day, two victims, Lauren Semanchik and Tyler Webb, were found shot, and the suspect, Lieutenant Ricardo Santos, later committed suicide.
Bollaro has been charged with abuse of office and forgery of official documents. His lawyer stated that the charges are unfortunate, and the victims' families consider his behavior scandalous. Bollaro is set to appear in court on November 5.
