In an unusual arrangement with the Trump administration, Nvidia and AMD will cede 15% of the revenue from chip sales to China for export licenses. This agreement was made after Nvidia's CEO met with Trump, and the licenses were recently issued. The deal is considered unprecedented, as US companies have not previously paid a share of revenue for licenses. National security critics warn that the H20 chip, destined for China, could support the Chinese military in artificial intelligence.
