The date of November 9 is significant in the history of Germany, marking crucial events. In 1918, the social democrat Philipp Scheidemann proclaims the Republic, signaling the end of the monarchy under Wilhelm II. However, the new democracy faces challenges, and in 1923, Adolf Hitler begins to contest power. In 1938, the pogrom known as "Kristallnacht" brings the destruction of synagogues and the persecution of Jews, foreshadowing the Holocaust.

The contrast with November 9, 1989, is striking, when the fall of the Berlin Wall symbolizes the end of division and the reunification of Germany. This day was marked by joy and hope, opening the way to freedom. Although reunification brought difficulties, achieving unity in spirit remains a long-term process.
