General Eirik Kristoffersen, the head of the Norwegian army, stated in an interview with The Guardian that Norway does not rule out the possibility that Russia may attempt to steal Norwegian territories and is preparing for a possible invasion in the north of the country.

He emphasized that nuclear weapons remain the only real threat that Moscow poses to the United States, in the context of stalled negotiations with Ukraine. The Kola Peninsula, located near the border with Norway, hosts a large part of the Russian nuclear arsenal, including submarines and missiles. Kristoffersen mentioned that Norway remains vigilant against Russia's destabilization tactics but emphasizes the importance of dialogue, recommending a direct military hotline between Oslo and Moscow to prevent misunderstandings.
