The resort of Wonsan-Kalma, dubbed the ''North Korean Waikiki'', opened recently and boasts over 400 artistic buildings on a white sandy beach. Kim Jong Un has emphasized the importance of tourism as a source of foreign currency, and developing the area is a key project for his regime. Although international tourism is expected to remain limited due to low air capacity, North Korea aims to expand tourism activities, including for Russian visitors.
