Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, has instructed the army to launch 'strong' attacks on the Gaza Strip, citing violations of the ceasefire by Hamas. This decision was announced in the context of the militant group Hamas delaying the handover of a hostage's body, accusing Israel of 'violations' of the negotiated agreement. Hamas stated that the handover, scheduled for Tuesday evening, will be suspended due to Israeli actions, which, according to them, hinder the search for bodies.

Additionally, Israel claimed that the coffin previously handed over did not contain the body of a deceased hostage, which led to accusations of violating the ceasefire agreement. Hamas responded by accusing Israel of fabricating pretexts to justify new attacks and called on mediators to allow humanitarian efforts to proceed without political interference.
