Mark Rutte calls on NATO countries to maintain support for Ukraine and to intensify military aid

Mark Rutte, the NATO Secretary General, urged member states on Wednesday not to lose sight of Ukraine and to increase military aid, setting a target of 60 billion dollars for 2026.

At the opening of a meeting in Berlin of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, Rutte emphasized the importance of ensuring consistent support for Ukraine, which continues to inflict significant losses on Russian forces. The priorities discussed include air defense, drones, missiles, and munitions for long-range artillery. Rutte mentioned that there is broad agreement among NATO member states regarding support for Ukraine, in the context of the PURL initiative, which facilitates the procurement of weapons from the U.S.
