The exercise "Steadfast Noon," coordinated by NATO, will take place over two weeks above the North Sea, involving bases from the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Denmark. Germany will contribute Tornado and Eurofighter aircraft for the transport of American nuclear bombs. Although NATO emphasizes that the exercise is routine, it serves to maintain the credibility of the nuclear deterrent force. The participation of non-nuclear weapon states, such as Germany, is part of the nuclear sharing agreement. The exercise will not use live munitions and focuses on training operations.
