In the final of the Arab Cup, held in Doha, the national team of Morocco defeated Jordan 3-2 after extra time. Morocco quickly opened the scoring through Oussama Tannane in the 4th minute, but suffered a significant loss in the 17th minute when Karim El Berkaoui got injured. Jordan, coached by Jamal Sellami, equalized in the 48th minute through Ali Olwan, who scored from a penalty in the 68th minute, giving the team the lead.

Morocco reacted by introducing veteran Abderrazak Hamdallah, who scored the equalizer in the 87th minute, sending the match into extra time.
