On Saturday evening, a minor fire occurred at the Fanatico restaurant in Madrid, caused by handheld fireworks ignited by customers. The owner stated that the flames were extinguished in about eight seconds with the help of fire extinguishers, without any injuries or structural damage being reported. The incident was captured on video, showing a curtain on fire during a circus-themed show.
As a result of this event, the operator GLH Singular Restaurants has decided to permanently ban the use of pyrotechnic elements in its locations. This incident occurred just a few weeks after a tragic fire in a bar in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, which resulted in the death of 40 people, caused by fireworks that ignited the soundproofing foam on the ceiling.
