Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota and a member of the Democratic Party, has announced that he will not run for a third term, wishing to focus on the fraud allegations in the state's social assistance system. These allegations, which date back to 2020, were intensified by the Trump administration, which specifically targeted the Somali community in Minnesota.

Walz, who also became known as a former vice presidential candidate, described the situation as a political crisis and emphasized that an organized group of criminals attempted to exploit the state's generosity. He stated that he prefers to leave the elections to others while focusing on addressing fraud-related issues. The elections will take place in November, and Walz criticized the rhetoric of the Trump administration, which accused immigrants of fraud in the social assistance system.
